Taekwondo is one way to develop cooperation. Although it seems an individual sport, it leads you to learn to work with the “opponent” so you can both improve. Its strong advantage is that it is a way to self-understanding and self-confidence. It is a form of art through which one can express his personality. Taekwondo is also a bridge to other cultures and times and establishes a contact with mind and body, which is a rare thing in western education. The true benefits lie in improvement of mind, body and personality. Without this threefold development, knowledge of techniques will be impossible. Great personal effort and mental concentration are required in order to learn Taekwondo, but the rewards are enormous.
